Privacy Policy

Last updated 9 October 2026

Escapage is a calm place to read, keep, and write. This policy explains what we collect, why, how long we hold it, and the control you have. We've kept it short, and we've kept it honest.

The short version: we collect your account details and the writing you create, and nothing more. We don't run ads, we don't track you across the web, we don't sell your data, and we never train AI on your writing. You can export or permanently delete everything at any time.

Who we are

Escapage is operated by Seedcraft Ventures Ltd (“we”, “us”), the data controller for the information described here. For any privacy question or request, write to contact@escapage.ink.

What we collect

Information you give us

Information collected automatically

We do not use advertising identifiers, third-party analytics or tracking SDKs, and we do not build advertising profiles of you.

How we use your information, and our legal basis

Who we share it with

We don't sell your data or share it for advertising. We use a small number of trusted service providers (“processors”) purely to run Escapage, under contracts that require them to protect your data and use it only on our instructions:

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and security of our users or the service.

Where your data is stored

Your account and content are stored on servers in the European Union. If we ever transfer data outside the UK or EEA, we'll use an appropriate safeguard (such as an adequacy decision or Standard Contractual Clauses).

How long we keep it

We keep your account and writing for as long as your account is open. When you delete your account, we permanently remove your personal data from our live systems straight away, and it is purged from encrypted backups within 30 days. We may retain the minimum necessary for a limited time where the law requires it.

Your rights

Under UK and EU data protection law you have the right to access, correct, delete, export (port), restrict or object to our use of your personal data, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. You can do most of this yourself in the app, or email us any time.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk), though we'd appreciate the chance to put things right first.

What others can see

Pins you post appear in the community feed and on your public profile. Studio writing stays private until you choose to post it, and boards are private by default. You're always in control of what you share.

Children

Escapage is for people aged 16 and over. It isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), access to our systems is restricted, and your writing is protected by database access rules so that private work stays private. No system is perfectly secure, but we take sensible, ongoing steps to protect your information.

Cookies

This website uses only what's strictly necessary to serve the page; it doesn't set advertising or tracking cookies. The app keeps a sign-in token on your device so you stay logged in.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Escapage grows. If a change is significant, we'll let you know in the app or by email before it takes effect.
